It’s not a big secret that the average teacher makes a less than desirable salary. Certainly nothing they could take to NYC and buy all the nicest clothes. Heck, they can’t even afford the nicest clothes at the local outlets on their salaries. It is sad.It is unfortunate, but it isn’t the end of fashion for teachers. With a little quick thinking and open mindedness, they can look like the models in the magazines without blowing their entire year’s paychecks. Here are a couple quick ways to look great and save some money in the process.
Don’t Be Shy From Secondhand Clothes
Secondhand clothes may often get a bad reputation because people think they are just old t shirts that someone was going to throw away anyhow. In reality, if you were to look in some secondhand stores, you would see clothes with price tags still attached. Clothes that somebody bought thinking it was nice, left it in their closet and then donated it when they did their spring cleaning. This time of year can be a goldmine at consignment shops and secondhand stores!
Look for Membership Deals
If you want to buy new, look for brands that offer discounts to frequent members. Companies like Charlotte Russe have some great deals for online customers. If you’re going to be buying, you might as well get some of the membership benefits anyhow. Other membership deals could be cash back on larger purchases or zero percent financing for a certain period of time. Look around and see what you find.
Take Advantage of Free Shipping
If you are buying online, always try to find sites that have free shipping and free returns. When you find places with free shipping and returns, you can order what you want, and keep what you like. Never again will you be stuck with something you don’t like because you can’t be bothered to pay for return shipping!
Of course it would be better if teachers just made more money, but there are so many problems in the world. Besides, teachers are notoriously resourceful so they can usually make due with their circumstances.
